Youth Ministry
The Youth Pastors, Dixon & Mercy Thuo, who have a heart for young people, head this Ministry. The Deliverance Church Nakuru youth ministry’s vision has 5 basic guidelines under which their reason for existence is categorized.   These are:
  • To disciple converts
  • Empower believers
  • Growing (Planting) Churches
  • Releasing leaders
  • Impacting the community
The word Youth in Deliverance Church Nakuru is a general term for a young person. Any person aged between 13 and 30 years qualifies. The youth form a large percentage of the church membership hence they play a very important role in the Life Celebration Centre Family. The Youths are categorized in age brackets, which are:
     
  • 13 to 19 years – Teenagers (Teens)
     
  • 20 to 25 years - Young twenties
     
  • 26 to 30 years - Young adults
Having these age brackets helps to minister to the young people effectively because their needs go with age. In their age groups, they are able to identify the problems facing them and deal with them head on without fear or intimidation. This has proved very effective for the past few years and many lives have been transformed as the youths take the initiative to deal with the challenges in life. The youth ministry organizes various meetings for the young people in this family. These include Leaver’s nite (a youth service in November after their exams), the Back to School Services, Coffee House, God’s Love nite etc. The aim of these meetings is to bring the youths together and allow them to have FUN in Christ. The services are designed to fit the times that we are living in. The aim is to retain them in Christ and to teach them the word of God that brings change to mankind.

This ministry also organizes hikes and retreats where by the youths go out for fun and teachings outside town. Recently the ministry embarked on a program to teach the word more intensively. The topics covered include the Ten Commandments, the SHAPE and the HABITS tool. These topics are designed to help them realize their potential, ability, personalities, Spiritual gifting among others. The ministry seeks to reach out to the other young people in the learning institutions by ministering in their services, weekend challenges and by organizing for inter-schools rallies. Through street bashes, the ministry is able to reach to the other youths in the streets.

To empower the believers, Deliverance Church organized for the first youth conference in December 1999. The conference, which drew attendance from the entire Central Rift Region, was well attended and the delegates learnt a lot from it. From that year on the Youth Conference has become an annual event being organized by Deliverance Church Kenya. The annual Conference draws young people from all over the Nation of Kenya. For the past 3 years the attendance has been very encouraging. The young people get an opportunity to receive teachings of sound doctrine by reputable speakers. During the conference the program includes workshops and sporting activities. Leading counselors are invited to speak to the young people each year.

With the mission of Knowing Jesus and making Him known world wide, this great ministry is growing immensely and is taking the city and the nation of Kenya by storm.
