» Vision and Birth of Deliverance Church Nakuru

Bishop Mark served as an assistant pastor for four years and in July 1983, he attended a conference organized by the Billy Graham Ministry for itinerant evangelists. At the end of the conference he knew that God was calling him to full time ministry. Before this time, he was doing quite well in his duties as a teacher and Deputy Headmaster. Upon his return to Kenya, he shared with his wife about the certainty of God's call on his life to full-time ministry. In response, she said if that was what God had designed for them as a family, she could by no means stand in God's way.

Being a teacher at the time, Bishop Mark resigned from his teaching post as a Deputy Headmaster to pursue the call of God. He took time to pray and seek God's guidance concerning the issue and God stirred in him the vision for Deliverance Church. He shared the conviction with the pastor and elders at the Assemblies of God church. They released him to pursue what he felt God was impressing on his life. He was joined by a group of six young brethrens from Mogoon and they rented the Nakuru old town Hall for Sunday Services. That marked the birth of Deliverance Church Nakuru. The miracle hall located in his home at Langa Langa served as the church office. Meetings such as choir practice were being held there.   ¤
