Tailoring School
Homologeo tailoring and dressmaking school was establishment in March 2004.
At the time, the school had 11 electric machines, two commercial machines and six students. The school is registered as a project under Deliverance Church Nakuru.
Objectives:
The main objectives of its establishment are:
- To make Jesus Known by witnessing to the students.
- To provide sewing skills to unemployed at very subsidized costs.
- To assist them become self-reliant.
Growth
Having been in existence for the past nine months, the school has grown with student numbers rising from six to eighteen (18) over the months.
The school offers Government Trade Tests in Grades III, II and I. At the moment, four (4) among the eighteen (18) students sat for their Grade III tests in December after nine (9) months of training; a course that takes twelve (12) months under normal circumstances.
Challenges
The greatest challenge faced by the school is the high drop – out rate by students due to lack of school fees and lack of material.
Vision
- To start a production unit where we make garments in masses.
- To get more manual & commercial sewing machines to facilitate mass production.
- To provide materials for use by students then get market for the finished products.
