Child Of Destiny Development Project
The child of Destiny Development Project is a program established by Deliverance Church in partnership with Compassion International – Kenya whose aim is to help the needy of the neediest children in our community to grow holistically and to get to their destiny in Christ.

Luke 2:52 ‘And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.’

The Child of Destiny Development Project was established in December 2003. Since then the project has grown and is now catering for 144 children in Nakuru aged between 3 - 7 years.

Selection Criteria

The objectives of the Child of Destiny Development Project are four – fold. They comprise ministry to the child:

1. Spiritually:
  • Hold vocational Bible schools to enable the child have a personal encounter and relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and character building.
  • Buy Christian books and materials for the kids to enable them receive instruction of the word of God.
  • Hold morning devotions for encouragement in prayer, fellowship, communion and love of God.
  • Show Christian videos and films.
2. Physically:
  • Provide a wholesome balanced diet in the Saturday program.
  • Provide equipment and facilities for physical development such as ball games, field track events and gymnastics.
  • To provide medical care and ailment treatment screening e.g. lab tests slides etc.
3.Socially:
  • Organize competitive sports at project and inter-project levels.
  • Organize for singing, drama and role playing activities.
  • Organize for sessions to enhance story telling, age groups and gender abilities to cultivate confidence, self esteem and enable them to share.
  • Organize trips for the kids to other parts of the country such as Nairobi Giraffe Centre, National Parks etc.
  • These social activities also enable the kids to develop a sense of responsibility, value for life and self – expression skills.
4.Economically:
  • Provide uniform and school fees for the kids for an enabling academic foundation.
  • Offer extra tuition to the kids.
  • Set up a library to facilitate lending of books to the kids thereby enhancing pre-reading skills, drawing and painting skills of the kids.
  • Offer basic computer skills to the kids.
