About

Bishop Mark Kariuki is the presiding Bishop and General Overseer of Deliverance Church Kenya comprising over 700 churches. A pastor to pastors, he oversees and provides fatherhood to the pastors in this ministry across the land. In his capacity as the General Overseer, he is actively involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS by awareness creation and advocacy for abstinence including surveys to determine the extent of the problem, instituting home based care and developing a HIV/AIDS policy for Deliverance Church Kenya. Bishop Mark has also added his voice to the National concerns about abortion and Kadhi’s court being included in the Constitution of Kenya. He is also the Senior pastor and visionary of Life Celebration Centre, Deliverance Church Nakuru through which he hosts the Celebration Time TV program alongside many other programs, which affect the community in a holistic approach.

A servant and a man of faith, he is a gift to the body of Christ wrapped up in a beautiful Apostolic calling enabling him to give fatherhood to ministers of the gospel outside Deliverance Church both in Kenya and outside Kenya. He is an astute teacher of the Word, Mass gospel crusade speaker, an accomplished speaker both locally and internationally, a church planter and a pastor with a shepherds heart. As an integral part of the Church's wider vision, Bishop Mark has initiated several projects in Deliverance Church Nakuru with an aim of reaching out to the community around with the love and compassion of Christ. The projects started are based on three development sectors; Education, Health and Social Welfare and they seek to address the spiritual, physical and economic needs of the community. These projects include the King’s Academy and King’s Medical Centre.

The Child of Destiny and We Care Rehabilitation Centre projects deal with needy children orphaned girls and street children to provide for their needs in respect to clothing, food, education and shelter. Homologeo Industries is also a project initiated by Bishop Mark that has several branches, which include Homologeo Detergents & Body Products, Homologeo Tailoring and Poultry projects. He has written two books “The Church” and “The Holy Communion.” Besides these, Bishop Mark has been on the forefront in the fight against hunger in Kenya in 2004 after the president declared food shortage a national disaster due to insufficient rains in the country. He has been involved in the distribution of over 1000 bags of maize and beans relief food to affected areas in the country.

In a bid to provide a lasting solution to this problem, Bishop Mark in partnership with his International friends embarked on a bore hole drilling exercise in areas experiencing insufficient rainfall. Through irrigation, residents there will be able to grow crops for their own consumption and even for sale. So far three boreholes have been sunk and are in operation in West Pokot's Sigor and Kacheliba Constituencies and Baringo's North Constituecy. The boreholes were inaugurated by Bishop T.D. Jakes of the Potter's House, Dallas, Texas and Bishop Mark Kariuki on 19th January 2004. Bishop Mark is married to Joyce Kariuki, who serves the Lord with him in ministry and they are blessed with three children, Daniel, Nicky and Lynne.
